♥  Welcome to Mugworts Queer Cabin! ♥

♥ Our Calendar opens every three months ♥ Booking will open again in January 2024

Mugworts is a magikal *QTBIPOC centered cabin and retreat in Guerneville, CA on the ancestral homeland of the Coast Miwok and Southern Pomo people. The cabin is within 20 minutes of the redwoods, river and ocean. This space is shared as a community resource for sweet times, gatherings, organizing meetings, art making, stargazing, retreats, scheming and dreaming, rest and relaxation.

Mugworts started as a healing and wealth redistribution project, establishing a sliding scale *QTBIPOC  centered retreat space to support social justice movement building. This project was created with the intention of moving it out of speculative land ownership into collective care of a land trust. After five years of collaboration, Mugworts land and cabins have officially been returned to the stewardship of Sogorea Te' Land Trust!

Mugworts continues as a *QTBIPOC community project, continuing its own purpose and moving towards sustainability. The collective launched an artist and activist residency earlier this year, inviting value-aligned projects to nominate a resident for a paid retreat at the space. Sogorea Te’ Land Trust staff participate, have access to the space and are members of the organizing committee.

The cabin is collectively run by Sogorea Te' and the Mugworts Collective, and the space is itself is collectively maintained. Each guest cleans up after themselves and we host periodic workdays to maintain the property.

Mugworts includes multiple two small cabins and can easily accommodate  4-6 people inside.  The cabin has a large lovely fenced yard that’s safe for animal companions, a separate studio loft, and a tiny tiny house for front yard off grid glamping. In the main cabin there is a queen bed and pull out sofa bed, bathroom with shower, and kitchen. In the studio there is a lofted queen bed (with a very steep ladder),  a counter space, and half bathroom with a sink and toilet.  The casita has a single camp cot and is not connected to electricity.  There is also an air mattress, a tent and sleeping pad in the laundry shed.
